Matthew 22:37

Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

One day when Jesus was teaching one of the religious leaders asked Him what the greatest commandment is? Jesus told the man, “You must love God with your heart and soul and mind.”

What does that mean? If we love God with all our heart and soul and mind, we want to please Him. We want to obey Him. We want to serve Him. We want to live our lives in a way that pleases God. We want to spend time with Him. We can spend time with God by praying. That’s talking to God. We can spend time with God by worshipping Him. We can worship Him by telling God how good He is and how much we love Him. We can clap our hands. We can lift our hands and sing to Him. We can spend time with Him by going to church.

If we really love God with all our heart, and soul, and mind, we love Him and want to please Him no matter what. We love Him when we’re happy. We love Him when we’re sad. We love Him when everything is going well, and even when it’s not.

Our snowflake has clowns in it. I like clowns. They can be fun to watch. I like their funny outfits and big shoes. Clowns use make up to make big smiles or tears. They can paint on any kind of face they want. Then they can wash it off and they don’t look like clowns anymore. It’s almost like they have different faces.

Clowns remind me of some people who say they love God, but they don’t act like it all the time. It’s like when they are at church, they put on their face that loves God. But when they get around some of their friends, it’s like they put on their clown face and act like they don’t care about God at all.

We should love God and want to please Him no matter where we are or who we are with. We must love God with all our heart, and soul, and mind.
