Psalms 119:105

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

Can you see the lamps in the snowflake? Sure you can, but if this room were totally dark you wouldn’t be able to see them. You wouldn’t be able to see anything.

Have you ever tried to find your way around in a dark room? I have, and it’s not easy. You might stub your toe, or trip over something. You might walk into a wall or step on something that could hurt your foot.

I’m happy we have lamps and electricity so we can see where we are and what we’re doing. We can see the obstacles that might be in our way and avoid them. It’s much safer being in a well-lit room.

Before we had electricity different things were used for light. There were torches, oil lamps, gas lights, candles and kerosene lanterns.

I’m glad we can just touch a switch and have light. Life without light would be very hard.

The bible says that God’s word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. Without God’s word, it’s like stumbling around in the dark.

The bible shows us how we should live our lives. It brings to light obstacles that can get in our way, so we don’t stumble over them. It helps us to see God and how good He is. It even tells us about heaven and how we can have a home there someday.

We should read the bible every day. It will light up our lives.
