Be Content
A man applied for a job at a circus.
“What can you do?” asked the ringmaster.
The man said, “Watch this,” and began flapping his arms. Slowly his feet began to lift off the ground. He rose higher and higher, until he was flying high up under the big top. He flew back and forth in circles and did flips.
He swooped down and landed next to the ringmaster. Out of breath, the man asked, “Well, what do you think?”
The ringmaster answered, “That’s all you can do? Bird imitations?”
Do you know someone who never seems satisfied? No matter what, there is just no pleasing them. Are you like that, or are you content? We may not have all our desires, but we are more fortunate than many people across the world. We should be thankful for our many blessings. Instead of spending our time thinking about things we would like to have, we should assist those less fortunate.
I Timothy 6:8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.
