God is Not Mocked
A small plane crashed deep in the jungle. The pilot and his only passenger slowly made their way through the brush hoping to find civilization, before a wild animal or headhunter found them. It was only a matter of minutes before they were captured by some cannibals and taken to their camp. The native that appeared to be the chief, spoke what sounded like gibberish to the pilot, and pointed to a large pot of boiling water.
The pilot knew he must think of something quickly. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a lighter. “I fire man! I fire man!” he shouted. “Stand back. I make fire! I make fire!”
With a flick of this finger a flame came up from the lighter. All the headhunters gasped and stepped back.
The chief said, “That’s incredible! That’s the first time we ever saw one of those things light on the first try!”
Abraham Lincoln said, “It is true, you may fool all the people some of the time; you can even fool some of the people all the time; but you can’t fool all the people all the time.”
Sometimes we can fool our parents, our teachers and our friends. At times we can even fool ourselves. We can never fool God. He knows our very heart. God knows our thoughts and motive, and we will be rewarded accordingly. If we think we can fool God, we are really fooling ourselves.
Galatians 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
