Horace and Bernice lived in the country with their twin boys whose names were Toward and Away. Horace decided it was time that the boys learned how to fish. Armed with poles and nets, he and the boys headed to the lake.

A couple of hours later, Horace came running back to the house. “It was awful!” he exclaimed. “A huge green fish leaped from the water and swallowed up toward.”

Bernice was horrified. “That’s terrible!”

“Yes,” said Horace. “But you should have seen the one that got Away!”

Fish stories. The big one that got away. We have all heard these stories. Most of us have probably even told them. We exaggerate. We call them little white lies. We think they’re not important, but the bible teaches us that lying is wrong. Whether it is exaggerating or making excuses, if it’s not true, it is a lie.
