Keep Planting
A couple of brothers who never seemed to succeed in anything came up with an idea of how to make their fortune. They decided to go to a farm and buy a truckload of produce, and then take it to the big city and sell it.
They got up at five a.m. and purchased a load of watermelons for one dollar each. They took them to the city and sold them for a dollar apiece. This went on every day for two weeks.
“You know,” said one brother to the other, “we ain’t makin’ no money at this.”
“Yep, I been thinkin’ about that,” replied his brother. “I reckon if we want to make any money sellin’ these melons, we’re just going to have to buy a bigger truck.”
Do you ever feel like those brothers? Do you ever feel like you dedicate so much time to something, but you never seem to get any results? Maybe you have been telling your friends about Jesus, but they just don’t seem to understand. Perhaps you continually invite your friends to church, but they never come. This can be discouraging, but we must remember to keep praying for our friends and sharing our faith. If we plant the seeds, we can expect the Lord to provide the harvest.
1 Corinthians 3:7 …So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.
