Love Does Not Brag
A man from an area in the United States known for having the biggest and best of everything, traveled to Australia. His host picked him up in a stretch limousine.
“You call this a limousine?” asked the American. “Back home, this would be a compact car.”
They arrived at the home of the host, which was a striking mansion.
“You call this a house?” asked the American. “Back home, our servants’ quarters are bigger than this.”
The Australian host pointed to acres of land, showing the American his property.
“You call this a spread?” asked the American. “Back home, I got ten times this much land.”
From the horizon, a kangaroo came hopping toward them. The American grabbed his heart. “What is that?” he gasped.
The Australian shrugged his shoulders. “Don’t tell me you don’t have grasshoppers back home.”
Do you know someone who likes to “talk big”? No matter what you have, they have one better. Wherever you go, they’ve been someplace better. Some of us are just naturally competitive. It makes us feel good to outdo someone else. We may excel in a certain area, but that doesn’t give us reason to boast and lift ourselves up, or even worse, put someone else down.
