Love is Not Puffed Up
A farmer was visited by his rich, snobbish, brother-in-law.
“Some little place you have here,” said the well to do brother-in-law as he looked around. “Just how much land do you have here?”
The man pointed, “right there from that fence, over to that maple, back there to that clump of trees.”
“You call this a farm?” retorted the brother-in-law. “Back home at my spread, I can get in my car in the morning and start at one end of my property, and by the time I make it clear around, it’s dark.”
“Yeah,” said the farmer, “I used to have a car like that!”
Sometimes we brag. It makes us feel important. We try to convince people we are a little richer, or smarter or better than others. People are not impressed by our bragging. Instead of being impressed by it, most people can see through our boasting.
