Motivated By God's Love
A man took a shortcut through a cemetery late one night. In the darkness, he stumbled and fell into a freshly dug grave. He cried out for help, but no one was around to hear him. He jumped and clawed and climbed, but he couldn’t get out. He finally gave up and realized the only thing he could do was sit there until daylight when someone would be around to help him.
A little while later, a second man took the same shortcut through the cemetery and stumbled in the same grave. He began jumping and clawing. The first man stood up and said, “you can’t get out of here.”
…but he did!
He was motivated. Many things can motivate us. Some good, some bad. We should be motivated by God’s love for us. We should make an effort to see that our lives are glorifying to God and do what is pleasing in His sight.
Colossians 3:17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
