A drunk was walking along the beach when he found a lamp. He picked it up and began to rub it. Poof! A genie popped out and said, “I am a great genie, and I will grant you two wishes.”

“Oh yeah,” said the drunk, “I’d like to have a bottle of booze that would never get empty.”

Poof! There was a bottle in the drunk’s hand. He tilted it up and guzzled it down. He looked at the bottle and it was still full.

The genie said, “You have one more wish.”

The drunk smiled and slurred, “I’d like to have another one of these.”

Doesn’t make much sense, does it? There may not be such things as genies, but there is a truth to this story. Alcohol impairs your judgment. It will cause people to do things they would not ordinarily do. The only way to keep alcohol from making a fool out of you is to choose not to drink.

Proverbs 20:1 Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.
