Five Loaves and Two Fish
I read of a young lad
In John chapter six,
Whose lunch fed the thousands,
With his loaves and fish.
The crowd followed Jesus,
To a mount that day.
He said let us feed them
‘Fore they go their way.
Phillip said there’s not money,
To buy enough bread,
For five thousand men and
Their families be fed.
Andrew said here’s a lad,
Five loaves and two fish,
But what is so little,
With thousands like this?
Jesus blessed the fishes,
And broke up the bread.
And with that young lad’s lunch
The crowd was all fed.
They picked up the remnants,
Of all they had left.
There were twelve baskets full
Of food Jesus blessed.
